Accessibility:
Our facility is physically accessible. We have installed a wheelchair nature trail, we have wheelchair accessible cabins, as well as wheel chair access to the dining hall, games room, classroom, and washrooms. We also have ramps down to the waterfront and campfire area.

Communities Outdoor Program:
As well as the Outdoor School Program, Gavin Lake also has a Communities Outdoor Program. This program provides subsidized (below cost) camp rental to any school, youth group, non-profit society or registered charity in the Cariboo Region. This program is very simple. We make it totally affordable for community groups to run their own programs at our fully equipped camp facility, getting them out into the forest environment so they can carry on with their own teaching mandates. Examples of community groups that benefit from this program are Girl Guides, Boy Scouts, First Nation Culture camps, Continuing Education workshops and Big Brothers and Sisters.
Other User Groups:
Gavin Lake can also be rented for big events such as family reunions, music society camps & quilters associations. Please email Mike at mtudor@ xplornet.com to inquire about availability and rates.
Cabins:
There are over 20 cabins at the Gavin Lake Forestry Education Center, with up to 100 people sleeping accommodations.

Viksten House:
Interested in renting a cabin, but don't have a large group? Our Viksten house rents separately from all the other cabins at Gavin Lake and could be yours for $150/night. Money generated from the Viksten house rentals goes towards the Grade 6 Outdoor School Program.

The Viksten house features a master bedroom downstairs with a queen bed, kitchen, living room with a single bed futon, dining area, washroom with stand-up shower and a loft accessible by a small ladder that has two twin beds. The Viksten House is fully set up with bedding, towels and cooking supplies. This cabin is secluded from most of the other cabins and is steps away from the lake, sauna and cookhouse. Please contact Mike Tudor for cabin rental inquiries and availability.
